Troubled Blood by Robert Galbraith

I have this theory about British TV detective shows. They are typically twice as long as my attention span. Apparently my rule also applies to detective novels. This book falls in that category since it’s about twice as long as my attention span. It is over 900 pages! It started out as a 5 star read and dwindled its star rating as it went on.

I really enjoy Strike and Robin’s interactions. I liked the case of the doctor Margot who disappeared 40+ years prior and whose daughter Anna hires them to find her mother’s possible killer.

It was just too long. Too much filler that made me want to start flipping pages.

I haven’t read J.K. Rowling’s comments regarding trans people although I heard there’s something on Twitter. Because I checked this book out from the library, like all books I review, I don’t feel like my reading this book directly gives her money. My rating is not affected by what she has said or done personally.
