The Book That Wouldn't Burn by Mark Lawrence

Did not finish book. Stopped at 56%.
I looooved the first 150 pages. Great writing, world building, okay enough characters; but the middle section, where they reach the library itself, becomes such a slog. There's action, yes, but also character progression hits a standstill in favor of - admittedly beautiful - descriptions of this endless library, to the point it starts to become repetitive. I tried to stuck it out (I'm at page 316 and have been sticking it out for 150 pages or so now) but I find myself bored, and not caring enough about the not very developed characters that I'm skipping passages more and more and just not enjoying it anymore.
I'll skip ahead, look at the ending - which is sure to be a cliffhanger) but I call quits at just about 50%.
