The Weight of Ink is one of the most meticulous and well thought out books I've had the pleasure of reading. It's evident that Kadish has spent hundreds of hours determining the historical accuracy of the book's seventeenth century backdrop, and finding the perfect way to phrase each sentence.

In spite of this, or maybe because of it, the characters take a life of their own and it feels as though Kadish is merely documenting the stories of people that lived and breathed.
