Loved this installment. The series keeps getting better and better. I was honestly dreading book 5 because I knew it was a new cast of characters on an entirely new continent. Basically, we start from scratch 2-3 years before Gardens of the Moon. That being said, I am kicking myself for even thinking this was going to be a slow/painful read. I have a better grasp on how Erickson develops his characters and builds his world. Therefore, this was much easer to read than books 1 and 2.
I can't believe how funny the scenes in Letheras were. I was laughing out loud reading about Tehol and his group. Learning about the Edur and Letherii cultures was interesting. It’s so sad what happened to the Sengar family and I loved reading about the family dynamics. I can’t wait to see how everything comes together in book 6.
Only one comment. I’ve noticed Erickson jumps between characters a lot at the end. I think this takes away from the story but I understand because there’s so much happening. However, at this point so many characters are crossing paths less povs would still move the story forward (in my opinion).
