Ugh! This one took me a while to get through.  I picked it up because I wanted something dark and full of emotion. The book starts off great and drew me in quickly, but soon lost interest and took long pauses between chapters.  The book was intense while they were being held captive and was a page-turner for me.  I felt it, I was in it! I needed more! After they were free, dealing with their trauma, it became boring. The constant back and forth, should I shouldn't I, annoyed the hell out of me.  I would have DNF'ed it, but I was invested in Dean and Cora.  Don't get me wrong, it was a decent book.  It was emotional and you really felt for them.  Maybe it was the right book at the wrong time.

I read this book on KindleUnlimited.
