Crash Burn by Lisa Gardner
2.0

Couple things here...
-- I listened to the audiobook, and the opening chapter was the worst opening chapter I've ever read or heard. Ugh. All the writing mistakes BEGINNING writers use, thrown into the first couple paragraphs. I couldn't. Ugh ugh ugh.
-- The audiobook narrators can make or break an audiobook, and the female's voice was obnoxious, her reading over-the-top and forced. The male reader, though, was excellent. I pretty much only listened to his bits. Automatically drops 5 stars to 3 stars.
-- I get that Nicole/Veronica/Chelsea is traumatized and unstable, but I could NOT stand being in her head. Unreliable narrators have never worked for me in the first place.
-- I wanted more from the police detective storyline. I gave up caring about the car crash investigation and cared more about Wyatt and Tracy. That really didn't go anywhere.

All in all, big disappointment. But I appreciated the twists and turns, as this book did not end up where I thought it would in the end. Keeping readers surprised in a good way: bumps it up from 1 star.
