I’ve been interested in Katrina for a while, so I thought I’d pick up a kids book on it. I’m happy I chose this one. The main character, Lanesha, lives in the Ninth Ward, which made for a more complex setting. My only complaint was that it was a bit repetitive at times, especially when it came to the mysticism. That aspect of the story wasn’t really for me, but I suppose others would like it.
