The Last Coyote by Michael Connelly

4.0

Harry's suspended from the LAPD so he investigates the 30 year old case of his mother's murder. The Last Coyote is not as tightly wound as the Concrete Blonde was but, again, Connelly's really on form here. The investigation takes him into James Ellroy territory which is not surprising given the recent conclusion of Ellroy's LA Quartet had just been published a few years before.

The next book published was The Poet, which I actually read years ago. I'm going to give it a reread since a few of the characters recur later in the Bosch books.
