My grandparents and parents read this book to me when I was a child and I adored it. In fact, I can still recite the entire book. When my daughter asked that my granddaughter be given books for her first birthday party, this was, of course, my first choice. When my grandson, who is three, reminded me that his sister needed to share, I read it to him and he was as enchanted as I knew he would be. And the legacy is passed on.
