Eighteenth Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter novel. This installment in the series has to have the shallowest attempt at a plot in the series so far. What attempt there was at a plot moved at break neck speed with little to no sense to the plot. This novel introduces Nicky a recurring character later in the series, but this feels like the laziest attempt to introduce him to the series. Add in the forced bond between Nicky and Anita this book made only made it more awkward and a poor introduction to the series for Nicky. While adding nothing to the series overarching plot or the characters development it was a quick and easy read.
