House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland

3.0

This one would have definitely been rated higher if it had not lost steam for me in the second half. I found myself really enjoying the idea of this book. The creative explanations of the otherness that was present and the obsessive connection between the sisters. Sadly, the second half lead down a path that just didn't keep my interest as much. I correctly guessed the answers to all the big questions in the book, which is never fun, and was left feeling a little underwhelmed by the ending. Also really did not understand Tyler's presence being such a big thing throughout the book. I felt like the author just added him so that she could have romantic presence and a kiss scene, but is was a really shallow romance and unnecessary since it didn't really tug at any emotions. Tyler just seemed unnecessary altogether, both to the plot and to the readers.
