It took me fifteen days to read this book and I didn’t even read the whole thing. I read the first one-hundred ish pages, skimmed vast swaths and then read the two, yes two, endings; the ‘A’ chapters and ‘B’ chapters. It’s over 600 pages and is easily three hundred pages too long.
I never jibbed with this story from the beginning. I didn’t like the writing style. Idk if it’s because of the actual writing style or the translation from Spanish or the translator or a combination of all of those things, but it just wasn’t for me. I also was never able to connect to Margot or David, our main characters. Basically I thought the book was boring and uninteresting.
I did like the nicknames Margot and her sisters had for their mother, Lady Meow/Mrs Butt Face and their stepfather, Lord Mushroom.
