An excellent novel and killer debut. Sharply realized characters, a plot that that moves like a train speeding toward the station without any breaks, pitch-perfect dialogue, and a fabulous, subtle evisceration of all sorts of “well-meaning” liberal white people. I want an Emira and Briar spin-off.
