Bakuman, Vol. 19 by Takeshi Obata, Tsugumi Ohba, Tsugumi Ohba

3.0

So, the much awaited anime could be a go? I feel sad that this series is wrapping up, it really has been an awesome adventure. I have a feeling the series will end with vol. 20, but it seems to me there is still so much to wrap up.

This time Ashirogi deals with a lot of scandal involving Mashiro and Miho. They've barely interacted over the how many years they've been secretly dating and now Azu-kyan fans are horrified and quite angry to hear about it. It makes me wonder if all fans of voice-actresses are gross otaku. A glimpse of a frightening world! The plot also re-introduces an old enemy of Ashirogi, a failed artist they've known since middle school who seems to have become a hikikomori. He's also very rude to his mother, which is terrible.

One thing I've been wondering is what about some of the other artists, especially Iwase, who used to be such a rival to the pair, but seems to have all but disappeared. I also noted a lack of my favorite manga-ka Hiramaru...what could he and Aoki be up to these days...

Can't wait for the answers in vol. 20
