The Private Lives of Pippa Lee
by Rebecca Miller
actually reading the book was hard. the language was choppy and very passive. i couldn't connect with Pippa; she seemed very stoic and cold and distant. but now that i'm done with it and thinking back, i liked how when Pippa felt like herself the story was in the first person, and then when she started to feel outside of herself and not as though she knew who she was anymore, it was in the third person, as though she was watching her life happen before her. i'm glad i'm done reading it, though. it's not one i'll read again. it was weird and contradictory at points and i still was not a fan.
