This book was okay. The spooky feel of the story was enough to hold my interest. The psychological complexity of one character was particularly interesting. All in all, however, the storyline was too predictable and characters fairly uninteresting. The characters themselves even complained about how predicably the story was unfolding. Even the one remotely interesting character, one you figure out what is going on with him, he just becomes the creepy axe-mudering type that every horror fan knows well.

If you are a fan of horror, and especially haunted house or classic ghost stories, then this is worth your while. However, it doesn't hit it out of the park.
