Dom Casmurro by Machado de Assis

An intimate, honest and poignant dive into the life of an individual, exposing all the complexities and intricacies of this human existence. The narrator, always focused on the protagonist, invites the reader to ask themselves a few questions, the most important, perhaps: did Capitu cheated on Bentinho or not? It is partially a joke but I am quite certain this question will haunt Brazilian literature like no other.
