What a heart-warming story! Seriously, this author has great skill in getting us into the main character’s thoughts and emotions. The rage, urges, and determination all rang true. I did suspect instantly who the mysterious beer-spiller was, and I was thrilled to be right. The relationship was wonderfully crafted and skillfully completed.

By far my favorite character was Jackson/Sackson. He was complex, likable, and a perfect foil for Veronica’s protective rage. I especially liked how her strength was emphasized, both in caring for herself and her sister in the absence of her mother’s care and of Sackson in the face of bullies.

Definitely a great story for those that love strong female characters and well-crafted personal growth stories.

I loved the frame tale of Harmony and Caleb. It added a particular poignancy and deeper meaning to the main story.

The only flaws I saw were a couple typos scattered without and an occasional extraneous comma.
