This book is a moving, heartbreaking portrait of a young girl whose youth was robbed from her by her mother, and by an entertainment industry which was designed to exploit her. I listened to the audiobook, read by the author, and at times it was hard to listen to. Especially the segments about her relationship with food and eating disorders hit very close to home to me, and I imagine to any woman who grew up in the 90’s and 2000’s. I could go on for days about all the feelings I had while listening to this book, but suffice it to say I loved it, and will not stop thinking about it anytime soon.
