Wicked Impulse by Chelle Bliss

5.0

Chelle Bliss has done it again, with another hot, steamy and action packed instalment of the ALFA PI 'boys'. Without a shadow of a doubt this is a 5 star book - and would have more stars if I could give them. Fran is one rockin' chic and Bear is so hot he burns.

She writes great characters that come across as 'real' and 'everyday' people. I love the dialogue - even if there is swearing - and how the characters interact with each other. Scenes have enough description in order to build a mental image, but are not so over the top that you lose the flow of the story. The focus is on actions, thoughts and feelings and with the book being written from both main character POV's, you get to really know and understand both the hero and heroine.

The love scenes are very hot and descriptive, but they don't feel like glorified porn. There is respect and real feeling between the hero and heroine and the sex is an extension of that. Whilst this is a romance book, the story is so much more than that. There are broken relationships to mend and secrets to reveal, as well as a crime to solve. It is a bit lighter than previous books and Fran has a wicked sense of humour.

The story is not only easy to read, it kept me gripped and I had to force myself to put it down and go to sleep at one point. I then kept sneaking my phone out at work to read a few more pages until I could get home and finish the book.

I loved this book from start to finish and really enjoyed every word of it. I also loved how we got to catch up a little on the Gallo's and finally find out Bear's story.
