Edgar Allan Poe's Spirits of the Dead by Richard Corben

3.0

I was very exited to read this, but I must say, having finished it, I am disappointed. I absolutely adore Edgar Alan Poe and his short stories but I don’t think Corben’s interpretation of said stories did them justice. In what regards the art, at times I loved it and found it perfectly captured the grotesqueness and morbidity of Poe’s mind, but other times it seemed to be 3D-ish and honestly it just looked rather goofy. Overall, not very good but not bad. Very entertaining at most.
