Covering Islam: How the Media and the Experts Determine How We See the Rest of the World by Edward W. Said

3.0

*This review is based primarily on readability*

The content in this book is incredibly important and it needs to be discussed, especially by experts in the field like Edward Said. That being said, this book was difficult to get through towards the end. I wanted more of a connection between part one and the recounting of the Iran Hostage Crisis. By the third part, it felt like Said was just repeating the thesis of part one, just slightly different. Content wise, easy to understand and little background knowledge is required—helpful but not necessary.
