An excellent and informative read.
True to form, Macintyre has again delivered a smash hit. The book is highly knowledgeable and highly readable, whilst not shying away from dark and challenging topics. He covers enough elements to allow the reader to build a clear picture of events, but doesn't get bogged down in a sea of detail and military jargon that can render these accounts unreadable.
The brave men of the SAS deserve to be remembered and honoured, and this book should enlighten another generation to the enormous sacrifice they, and so many others, made. Macintyre vividly brings their exploits to life and the book is a riotious adventure of some of most daring men of the war.
Absolutely recommended reading, Macintyre has joined my list of instant-buy authors. I am also looking forward to watching the TV show based on this!
