Star Child: A Biographical Constellation of Octavia Estelle Butler by Ibi Zoboi

5.0

I read this book literally so long ago and I've just been procrastinating on writing reviews recently, so. Sorry about that.

I don't have a ton to say about this one; it's really cute! It's a really unique and fun and beautiful way to write a biography, and I thought it was really effective and engaging. I learned a lot about Octavia Butler (I didn't know she was dyslexic? I also didn't know she was a horse girl? Amazing) which means the book achieved its goal. The poetry was great, and I think it's an especially great way to introduce kids to different kinds of poetry, because it uses a lot of different forms. 10/10 would recommend, now I want to read more Octavia Butler
