Secondhand Souls by Christopher Moore

3.0

Good, but feels like a missed opportunity. Early on, Moore presents a subplot about a bridge painter that is visited by ghosts that are bound to the bridge, each telling them the story of their life. Then the bridge painter has to figure out how to help them. This is a brilliant setup and I wish the entire book could have been about this plot. There was so much potential for that incredibly interesting story. Instead, it's just a minor part of a larger story that just isn't as interesting. Even though it was good, I couldn't help but think while reading it, "I wish this was about that other thing". It was also a little disappointing that the Morrigan was back. I would have liked to see all new baddies.
