Id probably give this book 1.5 stars, I had lots of problems with this book unfortunately:
1. The writing was just not great. It felt like reading a book meant for kids with adult subjects in it. It took me so long to finish the book and even get into it because the writing was just not good at all. Way too much telling and not showing and 2 word sentences.
2. I hated the characters. Preslee was okay, but she didn’t really have a whole lot of interesting personality. As for Adam, I very much disliked him. He made a bet on a woman and expected her to be okay with it? Also the whole sniffing the hair thing the day he met Preslee almost made me DNF the book.
3. The whole Adam and Michael rivalry was so incredibly stupid, first they hate each other and then the minute that Michael gets disowned by his parents everything is fine between them? That was just really stupid and poorly written
4. I feel like the book had a lot of things that were not in depth enough and barely brushed over. Examples include Preslee being pre-diabetic (and that being the whole reason why she worked out), Preslee’s relationship with her dad, Adam and Michaels relationship and their relationship with their parents, and much more. It was ridiculous.
5. I almost wish Preslee ended up with Josh, which is kind of sad. He was just like “well i dont stand a chance getting you bc youre falling for the guy that completely lied to you! But ill be waiting” like…what
Overall it wasnt a great book and i feel generous giving it 1.5 stars. I do not recommend it.
