Quite an enjoyable read so far. It immediately picks up from Miles Behind Us (as it should) and the art is distinctly The Walking Dead. I watched a little of the show before I had read the comics and there are quite a few changes, most glaringly are the exclusion of Daryl/Merle, how quickly the farm arc happens and
how quickly Shane dies.

I felt the introduction to the prisoners was pretty surprising but not as gripping as the show, what with Herschel having to have his leg cut off and all. Although, I don't appreciate how Dexter is written, at least close to his introduction. I understand he's a side character but he feels a bit quippy.

I didn't care for Chris all too much but I thought Julie's sudden death was saddening, I took it as she had been coerced by Chris into taking both hers and his lives for the sake of being together forever. Still sad and even a little angering if you get absorbed into the story like I sometimes do.

Tyreese and the gym was tragic at first but eventually cathartic. Thomas's murdering of Herschel's daughters was horrific, same with his attempted murder of Andrea (although she's got a cool wound which will likely turn into a cool scar now). The beating of Thomas was almost worryingly enjoyable to watch, alongside his death at the hands of a grieving Maggie.

The end of this issue leaves you wanting more immediately, and I will be reading The Heart's Desire incredibly soon. An amazing series so far and I'm very glad I got into these.

Easily my favourite issue so far, but I feel like I'll be saying that for nearly every issue.
