The Really Dead Wives of New Jersey by Astrid Dahl

4.25

UnREAL meets The Real Housewives franchise in Astrid Dahl’s The Really Dead Wives of New Jersey. It serves up the secrets, drama, and manipulation you expect from reality TV, but with the added wrinkle that the showrunner is related to one of the stars.

Read it for
- The mysteries (yes, plural)
- The drama
- The reveals
- The queer rep
- The cult ties

Told from multiple POVs with the transcripts of the show confessionals interspersed throughout the tale, this book will take you for a ride.

If you’re a fan of audiobooks, check this one out on audio. While primarily performed by one narrator, the confessionals include multiple narrators, giving voices to the cast and crew as they share their thoughts with the camera. It's easily bingeable on audio.

I received advance copies of the ebook from Simon & Schuster #SimonBooksBuddy and the audiobook from Simon & Schuster Audio. All review opinions are my own.
