My Ántonia by Willa Cather
5.0

My Ántonia was one of the books on a list I received in high school, of recommended reading for the college bound. I herewith agree with its status as a classic. I wonder what other books were on the list that really are must-reads? I know I belatedly read another from the list, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and was disappointed in its shallowness. This one does not disappoint, as a portrait of not only a character but a time and place.
