Forget Me Not: ★ ★ ★ ★
Q.B. Tyler
“How could I forget you? You’re the other half of me.”
Bennett Clarke wakes up in the hospital with no recollection of the last two years–including his impending divorce with his wife, Olivia–giving him the opportunity of a lifetime: win her back.
Tropes:
- Second chance/Marriage in crisis
- Amnesia
- Cheating
- Forced Proximity
Holy mother of angst. Devoured this book in one single setting & I would have it no other way. Normally, I don't touch books with amnesia or cheating with a ten foot pole, but something drew me to this book and I'm so glad that I did. I love marriage in crisis books–which honestly this one pretty much was–so I really did enjoy it very much.
Bennett was 50 shades of obsessed & I was here for it. He was so hot & I want to marry a man just like him. The idea of a man wearing my wedding ring has just never been so attractive. Olivia was really sweet and my God was she forgiving after everything she went through. I commend her strength, and I liked her character a lot too–especially since we got most of this story from her POV.
Olivia & Bennett are that couple that you just want to see together because they work. Despite all the pain and the heartbreak and the utter devastation that comes with it, you can't help but root for them because they just belong. I love the way he remembered everything about her no matter what, and boy, did he grovel for what he did. It was hard for me to see the way everyone around Olivia act like she should just forgive Bennett, but I'm glad she made him grovel and work for her forgiveness.
The third act conflict was predictable and avoidable, which is why I docked a star off for this one. Like come on, dude. You're just getting past an honesty issue & this is what you chose to do? I just wished the story ended before that because it was really a perfect ending of them coming together after everything they had been through.
