A nice enough novella. The characters have good bones and the premise of the story is a good one. Mostly, it feels incomplete - like a first draft. Too many unfinished plot lines and not enough backstory to be satisfying.
With a little expanding, and working through the conflict more, it could be a really strong book. A real pity the author released is without more work.
