Second Grave on the Left by Darynda Jones

2.0

In stead of being "the most hilarious read of the Summer" as the jacket claims Charley came across more immature and annoying than funny. Reading her dialog was like having a conversation with a 15 year old boy with ADD and I would rather hang out with her "boring" older sister more than I would Charley. The whole narrative lacked focus because of too many story lines and they all suffered as a result. One main missing persons case with the overarching Reyes story-line would have been enough but with an extra murder mystery and a homicidal ex-con on the loose there was just too much going on. I couldn't wait to be done with this book and I probably won't stick with this series.
