A review by dylancampbell
Redlands, Vol. 1 by Jordie Bellaire, Vanesa Del Rey
4.0
I'm surprised this has received such a mixed reception from other readers. I thought it was a solid entry into Image's lineup of horror comics with a strong story and great art. If there is one criticism I have, it would be that the story - at least in this first volume - doesn't have much depth.
I think that most of the other criticisms others have lobbied are unfounded ("The message is too heavy-handed." / "I didn't understand what the book was about." / "The story is confusing.") and probably lazy reading and unwillingness to engage with material that doesn't instantly match what was expected.
