This book kept me hooked from the start and I loved the momentum at the beginning. That said,
I was really disappointed by the ending. When I only had 50 pages left and still had left to learn what happened to Bear and Barbara, I knew it wasn’t going to wrap up well. The Bear death was somewhat surprising to me. I had surmised Alice might’ve played a role, but seeing it actually play out was a little heart wrenching. But then…we don’t see anything about how she reacts to the news?! Barbara, I found it ridiculous frankly that TJ would just…send her to live alone, and the cop would see her and let her go? At the end of the day the book itself was a fun read but the ending was a huge letdown and could’ve been so much cleaner.
