Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer by Richard Thomas, John Grisham
4.0

A good start

It’s not as intriguing as I would have liked but it does seem to set the stage for more compelling stories going forward as we are introduced to a lot of characters (many of which don’t serve much purpose to this particular story). As an introductory book for kids to learn the basics of law and the trial by jury process, it explains it well and repeatedly for the young reader to grasp it all. However the trial started J’s a murder trial. There is some alcohol use and mention of drugs. It seems more fitting to classify this as a YA but the character is only 13 - so it’s a borderline book, in my opinion.
