Bunny by Mona Awad

4.0

I'm not really sure how to rate this. It's somewhere between a definite 4 and 3.5. "Bunny" is not for everyone. It feels like it was written for a very specific audience and I am thankful that I happen to be in that audience, otherwise, I probably wouldn't have been so into it. It's true, this book is capital W Weird. It's wholly unique and strange and I legitimately did not know where we were going with it for the first 100 pages. The dialogue left a lot to be desired, but the originality of it all made up for it. I know a lot of people are comparing it to Heathers and the Craft, etc etc. but those comparisons fall really flat for me. Sure, it's a book about an ~evil~ clique of young women, but also it's not. It's about loneliness, self-pity, and creativity. "Bunny" is kind of its own thing. I would be interested in seeing a TV adaption of it.
