The Gunslinger by Stephen King
5.0
Despite being an avid Stephen King fan, I have always had an aversion to reading the Dark Tower series. For some reason, I could not imagine a series living up to the greatness of King's standalone works. It turns out I was very wrong.
The Gunslinger, the first book in the Dark Tower series, takes the reader through new dimensions with a different take on the world we live in. With interesting characters ranging from a small child to slow mutants to a being greater than God, King's writing is top notch. This book isn't the beginning, it's the end of the beginning, and it sets up what is sure to be a thrilling and epic tale to the very end.
