Inferno by Dan Brown
5.0
A mystery masterpiece !
I hate the fact that I delayed reading this book for so long ! The moment you start reading the book, it grips you and it keeps getting better and better until it reaches jaw dropping crescendo.
The writing is nothing exceptional but of course we gotta appreciate the sequence of events and reveals Dan Brown gives at precise timing.
The art and geographical locations mentioned were so detailed and engaging. I loved it ! And the Dante references were sheer brilliance ! I loved how Robert Langdon played detective even though he was far from one !
Story & Characters
SPOILERS ! DUH !
The reveal that the entire gun shot wound, hospital & Sienna were just a staged scene were awesome ! The Consortium played that one on point ! Robert Langdon got played and as readers so did we ! I fell in love with Sienna. Even after finding her true nature, the character still remained for the best one in the book.
The Provost was the coolest guy in here ! He kept his cool when he needed the most ! They wouldn't have been able to do anything if Provost didn't help them. Not sure if I was happy with Silver Hair Woman's decision about the Provost.
The ending was unexpected ! Of course everyone like me expected that we will stop the virus ! Like Duh ! But the twist was a good touch ! I loved it ! I love the story where you kinda support the antagonist ! I did too ! I was drawn to his idea which is quite straight forward to be honest. In the end he did what he wanted to do. But did he really needed to kill himself ? I wonder. But that was he was like I suppose, death turns people into heroes and legends !
