I had high hopes for this initially.. the hype was up there. But I got really annoyed with how paranormal it got a little more than halfway through, but then it slightly redeemed itself with the twist. The major twist I was definitely not expecting, so kudos for that. Though in general I thought this was written in a mediocre fashion (I heard that in the actual book that there are pictures that go along with the story’s pictures that really make a huge impression - I listened to the audiobook so to be fair, I may have missed out on a way to make this more appealing!) I struggled with SO many situations where I felt like “no one would EVER make that decision in real life” in this. I also just can’t get into any of the paranormal aspects of thriller books. So once that becomes a serious part of the plot, I began checking out a bit.
