The Judas Strain by James Rollins

4.0

I needed a distraction, so I picked up this book.
That's what these books are... low investment entertainment... and that's not a bad thing. It's fast paced action-adventure with science and history mixed in.
Sigma force, the covert super-spy agency is battling a would be pandemic this time around. A virus from the depth of the ocean that turns healthy bacteria deadly. A team of Sigma force is figuring out the virus. On the other side, the Guild is working on it too, trying to figure out the virus so that they can weaponize it.

Another team of Sigma Force is following up on the historical aspect of the virus which is tied to the travels of Marco Polo. This has more of an Indiana Jones or Lara Croft kinda feel to it where they are solving riddles and raiding tombs and temples.

seichan is with Grey helping him follow the trail...and there seems to be a budding romance there.
Also, Grey's parents are also in on the action, drawn into the fight between the Guild and Sigma Force.

All in all, it's a fast-paced action-adventure. The only complaint I have is the length of the novel - it's almost 19 hours long... it could have been shorter.
