mlhahn 's review for:
Crossing to Safety
by Wallace Stegner
Funny what I remembered of this book from when I read it in my thirties -- then, it was a book about hope and new beginnings and the surging joy of new friendships.
Twenty years later, it is the decay and the endings that resonate most with me.
And the very very end of the book. Wow. How could I have forgotten that?
"Yes."
