The War I Finally Won by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley

4.0

A worthy sequel to The War That Saved My Life. It's wonderful to see Ada learn to know herself as the book progresses. I loved every single character and was deeply invested in them. I loved how this group of people, some related and some not, formed a family. Jamie talked about their new house being a cave, and towards the end, when Ada says, "Our cave is big enough for everyone," it just encapsulated how these people had truly come to care for and love each other. To build that in the middle of a terrible war, in the middle of so much loss, is a beautiful thing.
