Pucking Revenge by Brittanée Nicole
5.0
So delicious!! After reading Mother Faker, I needed more in this world. It’s just a Langfield world and we’re all living in it. The text banter all around was hilarious. Sara really is a crazy girl. She is over the top but not in an annoying way. She was so endearing. And that both she and Brooks recognize that her panic response is outrageous outbursts. It made that craziness more authentic.
Brooks - once again, Britanee writes a swoony perfect man. All the things we love to see, all wrapped up in one delicious package. We were given believable reasons for his possessive behaviour, sweetness, his reasons for being celibate, wanting revenge etc. All were solid enough to drive actions, I felt.
One of my favourite parts of any fake dating trope is what I call “the clown phase” where both MCs are in love with each other but completely delude themselves in to thinking it can’t be true, or putting more weight on words than action. This was one of the best clown phases ever. Sure-best friends do that - right??? But only because we are friends. No other possible explanation at all.
