Planet Zero by Lydia Hope

3.0

After all of my excitement about a new Lydia Hope book, this one fell short of my expectations.
But.. it wasn't all bad. In fact, I would rate the first part of the book 5 stars. I was swept away by the world Addie found herself in and didn't want to stop reading. I especially liked Zoark's character when we are first introduced to him... a grumpy outcast who wants nothing to do with the heroine? Yes please.

But once the book progressed, the relationship lost its magic. I think we went from absolutely no romantic feelings to obsession in the span of a page? That may be dramatic, but it seemed waaaay too quick compared to their prior relationship progression.

It's obvious that this author is capable of fantastic storytelling, and I am interested in reading whatever is thrown at us next! I just hope it will be more consistent.
