2.5 stars would exactly do it. I read this once on my own and two years after I had to read it for school. The first time I really liked this but the second it nearly killed me! Werther is really such a depressed person that one has the choice between becoming depressed too while reading or laughing about his exaggerated complaints.
Werthers relationship with nature and the description he gives of it are well done, a nice read.
