Delightfully continuing this series as I watch through it slowly every month with my friends. In this volume, we meet our third main character and party member, Stark, who was Eisen's apprentice. He's as funny as he is in the anime and has fun banter with Frieren and Fern especially. I like that the new group includes apprentices of the original heroes, with their own quirks and motivations to prove themselves.

Oh and you learn that Frieren's nickname is Frieren the Slayer, which has some fun double meanings if you do a lil digging into the Japanese translation. Essentially, Frieren can mean someone who either attends a funeral (which makes sense since the whole show is about grieving) or one who sends people to their grave. Great linguistics stuff here!
