I love Ali Hazelwood, but this one wasn't my favorite. Ali should just stick with STEM romances, but this book, her first paranormal romance book, was still a good read! I read more supernatural/paranormal romance than I do "real life" romance novels. The main "real life" romance books I read are Ali's STEM romances and I liked Jen Deluca's Well Met series; but I mainly read Kresley Cole, Gena Showalter, Christine Feehan, etc. and I did enjoy the scientific spin Ali uses in this book, with the biological explanations and I found it appropriate when she used the educational/scientific words when explaining things that had to do with the biological makeup of weres and vampyres... but I found it pretentious and a bit overkill when Ali would use uncommon "big" words in the regular narrative parts of the book. With that being said I still very much enjoyed the book. Ali Hazelwood is always an automatic read for me!
