Bad Feminist: Essays by Roxane Gay

3.0

3.5. I enjoy short essays/stories/blog series, which is part of the reason I was drawn to this book. However, there were some notably uninteresting chapters in this essay series. Equally, there were some fascinating entries. The notion of being a bad feminist is confusing in this book as Gay seems to argue against essential feminism but then concedes to it but admitting that she is a "bad feminist" because she does not match the very essential feminism she is trying to dismantle. There are some great thoughts and opinions across this book and I would recommend, but it is certainly not the best thing I have ever read.
