Honestly did not care for this series most of the time. There are way too many main characters & POVs. A bunch of things that happen in ACOTAR also happen in this book like word for word and I know this series was published first but I read ACOTAR first and I’d rather read a 4 book series than an 8 book series where the exact same things happen. The 6 main relationships feel unrealistic since we get so little time with each character. Rowan is so boring that after he was introduced in Heir of Fire it made me not care about any of Aelins POVs because he was always there and she was always obsessing over him. There is nothing that really sets this apart from other fantasy series that would make me tolerate the lack of character development and feeling like I’m reading the exact same series as ACOTAR just longer with less time with characters I actually care about.
