This book's concept is pure trash but the writing is gorgeous. Simple when it needs to be and elegantly flowery at other times. Despite listening to it on audiobook and largely in public I couldn't stop myself smiling and laughing. The writing of young people was apt and the banter felt genuine and actually funny. It does drag on in parts but I found myself continually drawn to it because in those meandering sections you get more filled in characters and complex narrative (which was definitely necessary for this concept). Would certainly reread when in need of a pick-me-up romance which feels both nostalgic and hopeful at the same time.
